Greetings Gang;

It looks like the year end holiday festivities are charging ahead
full steam, and Thanksgiving is now just a week away. In case you missed
last month's QRPigOut post you may have also missed the announcement a
bout this year's annual Holiday Party at Sir Rhett (KE4HIH) and Lady
Joanna's (KE4QOZ). I also posted this on our Web site News page, so you
can get the details there: www.knightlites.org/news.

For November though, the third Thursday of the month happens a bit
earlier than you may be anticipating. The really great thing about this
month's QRPigOut is that it falls precisely a week before Thanksgiving...
By falling on a Thursday, it gives us an opportunity to rehearse
Thanksgiving dinner, and at the same time, it gives us a full week to
recover so that we'll be in top shape for our families when the real one
happens. :-)

My life has been getting a fair bit more complex, and I've not
been able to focus on my flying instruction much less get back to my ham
radio hobby in full dress. I have managed to log more than 40 hours total
so far, but that's over a span of 8-1/2 months, and I'm still a fair way
from solo flight. I anticipate that I won't be ready to take that step
until I've logged about 60 hours, and that's likely another 4 or 5 months
away, assuming I can sneak in an hour or so on weekends.

Sir Chris (KD4PBJ) is fast becoming all consumed with his family
now that Master Alex is now able to modulate in 3A3 with Q5
intelligibility. He's still managing to keep the oxide off his soldering
iron though, and I have a feeling that we'll be treated to another of his
more recent masterpieces this month.

So come on out and join us Tomorrow night at the Golden Corral in
RTP. It's been remodeled, and we may be off on the left or where we can
find room to cluster together. Folks start stragglin' in around 7:00 PM,
so come on back and join us, and bring along you're latest for
show-n-tell, or just tell-n-tell.... Let's hear your ideas about what's
happening with 80 meters recently. Instead of gettin' gooder, it's gitten
badder.

Sir Joe (WA4GIR) has been off on the sidelines this month also, so
perhaps he'll have some new info for us regarding the Knightlites
lingerie, er... I mean apparel.

Bring your holiday spirit along, and let's kick off the season in
first class... or in coach if your funds are low. We're flexible. :-) It's
looking like rain though, so bring along your umbrellas, drive safely, and
be ready to have a great time getting reacquainted, get updated on what
we've been doin' all year, and we're all ready to hear what you've been
doing as well, and looking forward to your bringing us all up to speed on
what's been keeping you away.

        See ya'all tomorrow night Gang!
