[KLQRP] KnightLite net tonight

I happened to tune by the net last night around 9:10 and heard a number of stations up here in NJ. I could copy pretty much
every station at least 90% of the time using an elevated vertical. In a few weeks I'll have some directional receive antennas
on-line and will probably be able to copy even better.

  Gang,
It was a great net tonight. A pleasant surprise hearing Sir Bob booming in from Greensboro with his cloud burner. Quite a nice signal here. Background noise here on the TS-450 with dipole was S6 to S9+10. Sir Bob was holding down S9+20 with his brand new NVIS antenna patterned after Sir John Paul's antenna from field day. Bob, (or John Paul): Can you let us in on the secret antenna? Sounds like something I should consider putting up so folks on the net could hear me better.
I apologize if the antenna description was something that Sir John Paul described in his FD story -- for some reason I didn't ever see that, although I saw comments about it. Could someone forward me another copy?
Regarding the net: As Bob said earlier today, we still meet at 9:00 pm local time on Sunday night at 3575 +/- depending on presence of other stations. All cw competency levels are welcome, just check in at what ever speed you are comfortable with and I'll try to adapt. QRN is usually higher in the summer and signals have to be strong to overcome the noise. However, tonight was the exception. Sir Bob (with help from NVIS) was great, and Sir Jack was even stronger (40dB over S9) since he is much closer. Sir Gary seemed to have the usual QRN cloud over his head, but was still copyable most of the time. I think there is a screen between my house and Gary's.
Don't be shy. Come check in with us on the Sunday night KL net.
