[KLQRP] NVIS Revisited

Guys,

I've had a lot to say about the simple NVIS antenna that we used on
field day. I built my version, modeled it with EZNEC, rebuilt it,
checked it with an antenna analyzer and tried it on the air. It works
very nicely.

Having said that, here are some caveats:

First, all antenna design is a series of compromises, and one serious
one is that the antenna needed to be simple to set up so it could be
field friendly. So, it's designed with a single mast, and the
radiating wires double as guys for the mast. This limits the design to
the inverted Vee. Other designs, such as a loop would have greater
gain, but would be much more unwieldy in the field.

Second, the EZNEC modeling program loses some of it's accuracy as the
radiator nears ground level
