B11 and B12 at CrossWinds are big sites since they are designed for RV's. If
the park rangers are ok with us placing tents along the drive length of the
camp I reckon we could erect 3 per site easily.

I will also bring my 17 foot boat for anyone interested in a cruise on the
lake, bass fishing or swimming.

OK, Now we are cooking.

I will have the log sheets and rules also Bob. I will print off a small
Handful of them for us. I will also bring some scratch paper.

I am bringing my Sierra and the modules. I will have two tuners, my
LDG Z11 and my new ZM2. I want to have backup in case anything does
Not work.

I am bringing the following antennas.

NVIS (40-10)
Carolina Windom (80-10)
Mast and Norcal Doublet (40-10)
130 foot doublet (80-10) on 450 ohm ladder line (100 foot)
15 meter loop quad (15 & 10)
40 meter vertical (33 ft with radial kit)
Three switch boxes, one 4 way and 2 way.

I have several gel cells and will have them all charged up
And in a box. I don't know how many I have yet, I will have to
Count them all tomorrow night. I have 4 now on the desk and have
A few already charged and several more in a box (brand new) in the
Garage on a shelf.

I will have one of more lanterns for the pole outside the tents, gas
And a shelter for over a picnic table or a small table that I have.
I think I have two of them now. I will bring a couple of canvas chairs
I have also.

I am bringing my smoker/cooker and charcoal for that. I am getting the
Meat ( chicken, sausage, ribs and grilling sauce together on Wednesday
Night and will have all that fresh. I am taking two coolers, one for
Water bottles and drinks and one for the food. I know we are a short way
>From the store at the intersection and can get ice readily there in case
We need it.

I will have a small tent to sleep in and one to set up for either sleeping
Or operating. It is the 10 x 10 dome we used on Balsam and other events.
I will have two small cots (one for me and one extra for someone else if
they need it)

Dick has already sent out a message to the group and if anyone else shows
Up they should bring their own gear and food. We will have space on the
grill and the smoker for extra stuff if anyone shows up. I will have my
Brinkman smoker going all weekend long I am sure.

I plan to get a case of water bottles for the cooler and just keep it
filled. I dehydrate easily and will keep that for staying hydrated as well
As for the coffee.

I will have the coffee pot and a grill to use for cooking with a hot plate
For anything we get together for a breakfast too. I have the gas bottles
for that already too.

I have plenty of rope and plenty of weedeater twine for antennas but if you
Have some bring it just in case. I will have a roll of duct tape and some
Cable ties too for odds and ends. I plan to have tarps for covering the
Tables if we have nice weather.

Yes, we will need something for mosquito repellent and for the ticks. I
have already been attacked by the ticks three times this year. One time at
the lake. So, yes, we need to be prepared for them.

Don't forget your towel and changes of underwear for this one. We will be
A short distance from the showers and rest facilities and they have warm
water especially in the evenings. In the morning it is a hit or miss thing.
Last time I stayed there it was a miss one morning and the water was a
little chilly. They have very clean facilities.

Without looking I don't remember how many we can have to each site maximum
But for sure we will need two sites and maybe three. That will depend on
which sites we do get.

Dick and I plan to get down there on Thursday evening and get two for sure.
If anyone else is planning to go, let us know asap so we can put it in the
plans for extra sites if necessary. They are all electric in the area we
are staying at. We need that for the computers. I don't think they will
let us use a generator for the computers. We will have to see about that. I
might take a generator and dick has one too.

More later.

Bob, the site is on US 64 and you can go down 421 to 64 and take it East and
Get right to it. The campground is marked and we are trying for sites B11
and B12. Pictures were sent by Dick earlier in the week.

If you need specific directions we can get them to you.

Guys,

My son told me today that Jordan Lake has become a haven for ticks this
year. Not just a few, but it's common for someone taking a stroll in the
area to bring home not even several, but **many** ticks. He reported one
friend and his wife had to stop the car on the way home, get out and
have a tick removal session before continuing. So, bring lots of tick
spray!!!!

It looks like I will show up at Jordan Lake Saturday morning in time to
set up, practice and shoot some bull before the contest starts. Can you
give me some directions or coordinates for our camp sites?

I'll bring a tent and also have a portable shelter that's easy to set
up, and a couple of small portable picnic tables that work very well as
operating tables. (some of you may remember, we used them a couple of
years ago)

Will bring the K2 and everything it takes to operate it with a CMOS II
memory keyer. Will log by hand this trip. Will also have a solar panel
and charge a battery while we're there.

Also have a copy of the rules and will bring some sheets with all of the
sections listed (enough for everyone)

Now some questions about operating:
1. What class will we be?
2. Is someone working on publicity, and/or a sign for our location,
since there may be some public present?
3. From earlier email it sounded like we are going to have plenty of
antennas available -- do I need to bring one?
4. Should I bring a tuner or is everyone automatic these days?
5. Is someone bringing log sheets, or should I bring them?
6. What do we need that hasn't been accounted for?
