The time is getting closer for the QRP gala event of the area, well for east Chatham county anyway.  We are getting things together and looking forward to an evening of fun.

A couple of additions and corrections to the original message.

Ignore the part about bringing chairs -- we have plenty.  That was a cut-and-paste leftover.

Good weather is predicted, although maybe a little warmer than I hoped.  However, the event will go on, rain or shine.  We'll eat indoors, if the weather looks threatening.

For those that may not have been here before, http://maps.google.com/ give a good depiction of our location.  Just enter 863 Neodak Road, Apex NC.  Only problem is that it puts us a little bit further out on Neodak than we really are.  Just click on Satellite or Hybrid for an aerial view.  Our house is the one in the back with a pond and circle driveway, located about 800 feet north of where google says we are.  Still, its a great site because of the aerial view.

So far, I've gotten RSVP's from about 18 folks.  If you haven't sent me an Email since the notice below was sent out, drop me an Email so I can get a better head count.  I'm pretty sure there were some folks that verbally told me that they would come when I put out a note a month or two back that we were planning this, but I haven't added them to the head count yet since I didn't really start counting until 9/13 (and I really don't trust my memory for comments made before that).

So come on out, bring your QRP projects.  I'll have tables set up with power and antenna access for show and tell.(antennas are 80- and 40-m dipoles with a tuner provided for other bands).

  Bring the whole family.  Socializing starts around 3:00 with eating planned
  for 5:30 (give or take, depending on when the pig gets finished cooking).
  We will provide Pig and related sauces, slaw, beans, banana pudding and
  drinks.  Feel free to bring a side dish or desert, but it is not mandatory.
  Also, bring a folding chair if it's convenient -- we have a bunch of them
  but we may not have enough for everyone.

  RSVP by Sept 20 so we can get an approximate head count.  If you are
  bringing a dish, let us know that at the time so we can make sure everything

  Talk-in on 146.52 simplex (i.e., you have to be kinda close)

    From Cary
  * Take High House Road West to NC 55 and continue straight across NC 55.
  Road becomes Green Level Road.
  * Continue on Green Level Road 5.0 miles beyond NC 55, then turn right on
  Neodak Road.
  * Go 0.9 miles on Neodak Road to Mailbox with 863 on it.  Turn left into
  drive by mailbox.  Continue down driveway about 600 feet.  Pass the house on
  the left.  That ain't us.  Our house will come into view as the drive way
  turns to right and turns from gravel to concrete.

     From I-40 exit 274  -- NC 751:
  * Turn Southbound on NC 751 (right turn at top of I-40 exit ramp if coming
  from Chapel Hill, or left turn if coming from Research Triangle Park).
  Travel on NC 751 approximately 9 miles.
  * Turn left onto Lewter Shop Road at Jean's Berry Patch.
  * Go 0.3 miles on Lewter Shop Road and turn right on Green Level Road
  * Go 0.3 miles on Green Level Road and turn left on Neodak Road.
  * Go 0.9 miles on Neodak Road to Mailbox with 863 on it.  Turn left into
  drive by mailbox.  Continue down driveway about 600 feet.  Pass the house on

     From US 64 intersection with NC 751:
  * Turn northbound on NC 751 (right turn off 64 if coming from Apex/Cary, or

  Jeans Berry Patch.
  * Go 0.3 miles on Lewter Shop Road and turn right on Green Level Road
  * Go 0.3 miles on Green Level Road and turn left on Neodak Road.
  * Go 0.9 miles on Neodak Road to Mailbox with 863 on it.  Turn left into
